Privacy Policy – Price Watcher PRO (Free)

1. Information We Do Not Collect

The Extension does not collect, store, transmit, or share any of the following:

• Personal information (name, email address, etc.)
• Account or login details
• Payment or financial information
• Complete browsing history
• Analytics or tracking data about your usage
• Advertising identifiers

All processing is limited to your own browser. No data is transmitted to external servers by this Free version.

2. Information Stored Locally

The Extension uses the browser’s storage (e.g. chrome.storage) to store a small amount of data locally on your device. This data includes:

• The product URLs you add to your watchlist
• The last detected price for each tracked product
• Your chosen check interval (minimum 15 minutes)

This information:

• Stays on your device
• Is not sent to any external server by this Free version
• Is not shared with third parties
• Is removed when you uninstall the Extension or clear the extension’s data

3. How the Extension Works

To detect prices, the Extension:

• Uses a scheduled timer (alarm) to run checks in the background at the interval you set (minimum 15 minutes)
• Temporarily opens the product pages you have explicitly added to your watchlist in an inactive, background tab
• Runs a small script in that tab to read the price from the live page content (DOM)
• Closes the tab automatically after the price check

The Extension only opens and reads pages that you have manually added to your watchlist. It does not automatically scan or analyze other sites or tabs.

4. Use of Permissions

The Extension requires certain permissions in order to function correctly:

4.1 Storage

Used to store your watchlist (product URLs) and settings (such as check interval) locally in your browser.

4.2 Alarms

Used to schedule recurring background checks at the interval you choose (minimum 15 minutes). When an alarm fires, the Extension checks prices for the items on your watchlist.

4.3 Notifications

Used to show desktop notifications when the price of a tracked product changes. Notifications are only related to your own watchlist and settings.

4.4 Tabs & Scripting

Tabs: used to temporarily open the URLs you have added, in inactive background tabs, so that the page can load.

Scripting: used to run a small script in the background tab to read the price from the live page content. The Extension does not modify the content of the page or inject advertising.

4.5 Host Permissions

Host permissions are required so the Extension can access the specific product pages you choose to track. The Extension only accesses URLs that you explicitly add to your watchlist.

5. Third-Party Services

The Free version of Price Watcher PRO does not use analytics services, advertising networks, or external tracking services. No data is transmitted to external servers as part of normal operation.

6. Children’s Privacy

The Extension is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under the age of 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Security

Because data is stored locally in your browser, your information is controlled by your device and browser settings. You can remove all locally stored data by uninstalling the Extension or clearing browser extension data.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page, with an updated “Last updated” date. If you continue to use the Extension after changes are posted, you agree to the revised Policy.
